Program:
Sailor Kate Ministry is a non-profit organization that
provides comfort to children and families in need. It was founded by Wendy
Lee after the death of her 15-month-old daughter, Sailor Kate, in 2001. The
ministry donates teddy bears to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and
children in need, with each bear having a tag that reads, "A guardian angel
sends me to share peace and comfort along with a prayer" They also create
handmade quilts for families who have faced tragedies, with over 50 quilts
donated so far. The ministry presents quilts to families in memory of their lost
loved ones with the quilt squares made by people from around the US and
finished by volunteer quilters.

Workshop:
Barn Quilt workshop will be held on the Wednesday following our meeting at the Community Center from 9 until 3. Lunch is provided.
October
- Program:
In October we will have a special treat! Some of our founding members will provide a trunk show from their years of quilting and share memories of the early days of our guild.
Workshop: At our October workshop our own Sonya Winterrowd and friends will guide participants in creating their own quilted jackets just in time for cooling weather.
