Challenge Project

Each year our Members are presented with a Challenge.
The LOQG 2019 - 2020 Challenge Project was announced at the September 03 Guild Meeting by Cookie Noel.  Members were given a  green flyer listing details for this year's Challenge Project which focuses on green.  Additional size requirements have been documented in an amended flyer which may be accessed here  .

Previous year's Challenge Projects are listed below:

The Challenge Project for 2018 - 2019 was focused on Respect. Finished projects were due at the last meeting of the year and were judged in two categories: Bed or Wall Hanging-sized and Miscellaneous items.

The Challenge Project for 2017-2018  was announced by Carolyn Wren at the regular Guild Meeting on 5 September 2017.  Requirements were very few  for this year in that no fabrics or size restrictions were specified. The one overarching requirement was that the project had to be a quilt, not a garment or a purse. A quilt is defined as three layers, a top, batting, and backing.  In 2017, the theme for the Challenge Quillt was "My Delight".

The Challenge Project for 2016 - 2017 was announced by Regina Carter at the regular Guild Meeting on 6 September 2016.  Instructions/requirements for the Challenge Quilt may be accessed by clicking here.

In 2015-2016, the Challenge goal was to make 150 pillowcases to be presented to the Circle of Love.  Guild Members far exceeded the initial goal before May 2016 by presenting 314 pillowcases.  Directions for making the pillowcases by the tube method are still available here.

In 2013 we were challenged to create a quilt using 2 1/2 inch strips for at least 50% of the top.  The results were very interesting and all very different from each other.  Click here to view some of the beautiful quilts created for the 2013 challenge.
